Fever is one of the body's defense mechanisms — a symptom in response to bacterial and viral invasion. Higher body temperature increases metabolism, promotes the body's defense mechanisms, and prevents the spread of pathogenic agents.
Several diseases are accompanied by characteristic changes in body temperature. Measuring it allows monitoring of disease progression and evaluation of treatment effectiveness by the physician.
A healthy person's body temperature fluctuates between 36.5°C and 37.5°C, with an average of 37°C. A temperature above 37.5°C indicates fever.
It varies by age, metabolism rate, and measurement site. It also varies throughout the day — lowest in the morning, highest in the afternoon, and somewhat lower at night.
Rossmax thermometers support 5 measurement sites: rectum, ear, oral (mouth), forehead/temple, and armpit.
Each thermometer type measures a different body site, and each site has a different temperature. From highest to lowest: rectal > ear > oral > armpit > forehead/temple. Note: rectal measurement should only be performed by professionals.
Only the Rossmax Non-Contact Thermometer can measure object temperature (range: 0°C – 100°C). The thermometer mode must be changed before measuring object temperature — refer to the specific model's instruction manual.
Yes, all models include an auditory fever alarm.
Yes, all models have auto shut-off. However, manually turning off the thermometer is recommended to save battery life.
Yes, all models have a low battery indicator.
Yes, all models support switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Refer to the specific model's instruction manual for how to switch units.
No. Only the non-contact thermometer and ear thermometer have up to 9 memories. The pencil thermometer only stores the last reading.
Home use models: at least 5 cm away. Professional models: at least 10 cm away. Measure in a closed environment — away from wind, air conditioning, and direct sunlight.
For different individuals: 1 time only (hygiene regulation). For the same individual: up to 30 times (as long as it is clean and not torn). Clean with alcohol after every use and wait 30 minutes before reusing.
To avoid any possibility of spreading infection from one person to another.
Both modes can be used based on preference: • Normal 1-second measurement mode • 3-second continuous scanning mode ← recommended for better results
A special feature of the Rossmax Ear Thermometer. The user straightens the ear, gently inserts and rotates the probe inside the ear canal in a circular manner while pressing and holding the start button for 3 seconds. This scans the entire ear canal and detects the highest temperature.
TG380: has a flexible and waterproof tip; TG100 does not. Measurement times: Rectum — TG380: 10 seconds, TG100: 60 seconds Oral — TG380: 20 seconds, TG100: 60 seconds Axillary (armpit) — TG380: 30 seconds, TG100: 1–5 minutes
Non-Contact Thermometer: Always measure on the same temple side (e.g., always left) for consistent results. Ensure the temple is free from hats or headbands, and avoid excessive clothing that may elevate body temperature. Ear Thermometer: Ensure the ear is clean and free from earwax before each measurement. Ensure the probe cover is undamaged and fully secured on the probe. Pencil Thermometer: For axillary readings, ensure close contact between probe and armpit — especially for babies and children. Use two separate thermometers if measuring both oral and rectal temperature, for hygiene purposes.
Use a cotton swab with 70% alcohol to clean the probe (if any), inside of the probe, lens, and metal parts. Allow the probe to fully dry for at least 5 minutes. Do not expose thermometers to chemical thinners or soak in water.
Store at room temperature with humidity below 95%. Keep dry and away from liquids, direct sunlight, and strong electromagnetic sources (microwave ovens, mobile phones). Remove the battery when not in use for a long period. Do not charge or expose the battery to extreme heat — it may explode.
Check the device for damage. If you cannot determine whether it is damaged, send the complete device to the nearest retailer for checking and re-calibration.
Using the Rossmax ThermoCal device, compatible with all three thermometer types. Acceptable allowances: Non-Contact Thermometer: ±0.3°C Ear Thermometer: ±0.2°C Pencil Thermometer: ±0.1°C
